OUR MISSION
The Rockwall Municipal Court is responsible for the adjudication of State and City ordinance violations which are classified as Class C Misdemeanors. The court conducts hearings and trials, collects fines, issues warrants, and reports convictions for offenses which occurred within the City of Rockwall. The following information is furnished to assist you and answer any questions.
OUR HISTORY The Rockwall City Council first established the Rockwall Municipal Court through Ordinance No. 76-04, enacted on April 5, 1976. The newly established Court had “jurisdiction within the territorial limits of the City of Rockwall, and all criminal cases arising under the ordinances of said City, and also shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the Justice of The Peace of the precinct in which the City is situated in all criminal cases arising under the criminal laws of the State in which punishment is by fine only and where the maximum of such fine may not exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).” The ordinance provided that the Presiding Judge of the Court must hold court at least once a week at the Rockwall City Hall. more...

The email for the Municipal Court is MCOURT@ROCKWALL.COM . This email may be used to send a Motion for Continuance, Records Request and Discovery Motions. This email is NOT for pleading your case or communicating with the Judge. The acceptable form for these requests are located on the web site.
Hours:
Many fines can be paid online. Payments for the Deferred Disposition that have been approved by the Court may be paid online. If you meet the state qualifications for the Driving Safety Course or Deferred Disposition, you may enter a plea and request those two options by mail, or you may do so in person at the window during business hours.

I received a citation for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (No Insurance) but I had insurance at the time I just did not have the proof. Can I have the citation dismissed?
